Olympic champion Ferrand-Prevot joins Visma with Tour de France the target
Olympic mountain bike champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévothas has signed a three-year deal with Visma-Lease a bike in a switch back to road cycling for the Frenchwoman.
The 32-year-old will join the Dutch outfit in the new season, in 2025, and says she wants to target the women's Tour de France.
"Women's cycling has come a long way since I left the sport", she said.
"I am sure I can do great things again, so I am very motivated. I want to win The Tour de France Femmes."
Visma Team manager Rutger Tijssen is happy with 2014 world road race champion Ferrand-Prévot's arrival.
"Pauline is an exceptionally talented athlete who decided to devote herself entirely to mountain biking a few years ago. With her Olympic gold medal, she has now completed mountain biking. I admire that she has taken the bold decision to return to the road with a clear objective: to win the Tour de France Femmes."
Ferrand-Prevot was with the Ineos mountain bike team who also won gold in the men's race with Tom Pidcock.
